Meet UK-born footballer who tattooed Nigeria's map on his leg

There are excellent footballers of Nigerian descent plying their trade in different parts of the world.

Although some of such players are yet to express interest in playing for Nigeria, they are not any less patriotic and have ingenious ways of expressing love for their fatherland.

A good example is Akin Famewo who has the Nigerian map as a tattoo on his leg.

Born in Lewisham, England in 1998 to Nigerian parents, Famewo plays for Charlton Athletic. The defender showed off his leg tattoo of the African continent with an outlined map of Nigeria after Monday's EFL League One game with Portsmouth, which Charlton won by 2-1.

He posted the photo along with other photos to celebrate the victory and captioned it, “Solid 3 points last night.”

Interestingly, Famewo has never played international football, a development which means he is eligible to represent Nigeria if he chooses to.

Reacting to the post, some Nigerians acknowledged his patriotism by commenting with emojis of Nigeria's flag.
